This painting is the artist’s impression of the famous ‘Silk Road’, a network of historic Eurasian trade routes that facilitated trade between the East and West. A key figure in Bitcoin’s history, Ross Ulbricht, used the name ‘Silk Road’ for his website focused on free market commerce. The camel in the painting is a lifelike interpertation of the website’s original green camel logo. Ross is currently serving life imprisonment for creating and operating the market website.
